She received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and Juris Doctor with honors from New York University Law School and was a partner in a major US law firm specializing in corporate and financial transactions.

In 1980 Lady Judge was appointed by the President as the youngest-ever Commissioner of the US Securities and Exchange Commission and initiated regulatory reforms to open the US capital markets.

She moved to Hong Kong in 1983 as the first woman main board executive director of a London merchant bank, Samuel Montagu & Co and News International.

She is currently the first woman National Chairman of the UK Institute of Directors. She is also a member of the UAE Advisory Board for the Development of Peaceful Nuclear Energy and the International Advisory Group (IAG) for Jordan's Nuclear Energy programme, as well as the Strategic Advisory Council of Statoil ASA.

In addition, she is a UK Business Ambassador and Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).

In 2002 she was appointed as a director of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and became its Chairman in 2004 and was reappointed in 2007. After completing two terms she was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Tepco Nuclear Reform Committee and Chairman of it Nuclear Safety Task Force.

In 2010 she was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen's Birthday Honors for services to the nuclear and financial services industries. In 2015 she was awarded the Times Non-Executive Director of the Year for a Public Sector Organisation for her achievements as Chairman of the UK Pension Protection Fund.

He received his bachelors and masters degrees in economics from Queens' College, University of Cambridge (1977 and 1981) and was the winner of the Adam Smith Prize in 1976. He then undertook postgraduate work at the University of Sheffield on various aspects of the inflation process and contributed to the teaching of undergraduate students.

Steve's early business career from 1979-1990 was as an industrial economist with leading UK companies, including Rio Tinto and Rover Cars. He practiced as an independent consultant from 1990 onwards and then joined the former Uranium Institute (UI) in 1995 as Senior Research Officer. He became Director of Strategy & Research when the Institute became the World Nuclear Association (WNA) in 2001 and was Deputy Director General from 2010 until March 2013, including three months as Acting Director General in late 2012.

His publications include many significant UI and WNA reports, including acting as Secretary (and lead author) of eight successive biennial nuclear fuel market reports. He has contributed over 100 papers to various international nuclear and energy conferences and to journals. He has contributed a monthly “Comment” column to the magazine "Nuclear Engineering International” for the past twelve years (available at http://www.neimagazine.com/opinion/). He has authored one book, "Core Issues – Dissecting Nuclear Power Today” (2008) and contributed chapters to several other nuclear and energy sector books. He also edited the book “Uranium Adventures” by Ilkka Mikkola (2008).

Steve is a frequent speaker at conferences and meetings around the world. He is a former Chairman of the Nuclear Engineering Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and has organized and taught at many training courses for nuclear professionals in developing nuclear countries on behalf of the World Nuclear University.
